06/26/2004: "Capri - June 25"
So today we went to Capri. Katie and I have both discussed it and we will never be going back...
The worst thing we have done this trip so far. We spent over 80 bucks in less than 4 hours. Never again! Anyway, besides that we took a tour of the island, got some pretty good pictures, and went to go see the Blue Grotto, which is this cave that you can only see at a certain tide. When you go inside you can't see crap, and then when they turn you around, because you are in a small rowboat, you see the way you came in and the bottom of the cave is a stunning blue. It's kind of like the water that they were drinking in the movie Tron. It was a bright blue, and it looked like it was glowing. It was actually beautiful. But how did we get there you ask? Well, you pay 20 bucks to get on the tour, and then another 20 to see the grotto. Don't forget to tip your rower. Yeah it was a great trip I only have one memory of the experience, and I'll probably forget it in a couple of weeks. But I'm sure my wallet won't. It's a total tourist trap. So, besides that. Having to pay 50 cents to use the restroom was a nice addition. And some fake frozen lemonade thimble cup for 2 bucks was also nice. It just added to the experience. Total crap. But anyway, what can I do. Take the punch in the face, and the stomach...and the face again, and warn everyone to never go to Capri, unless you like giving to needy tourist traps. Have fun!!!
